An in-tray exercise is a situational test that simulates administrative aspects of a job. The Financial Services in-tray aims to assess the Analyzing, Organizing, Decision-Making and Communication skills of individuals being considered for a junior management position.  The scenario is HMF Financial Services, a subsidiary of an international finance company.  The Public Relations Manager of the Toronto region has been taken ill while organizing a booth for an important exhibition.  The candidate is asked to take over this job at short notice.
